Santiago has worked in strategy, operations, project finance and M&A at some of the largest European power-engineering firms where he has built business from the ground up and developed project pipelines worth $1B+ in multiples countries across Europe and the Americas.
In addition, Santiago has very relevant experience in the Fintech / Digital Transformation spaces, having founded a fintech disruptive startup where he has been in charge of the technical efforts in the fields of machine learning, blockchain and impact modeling.
Santiago holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vigo, an MBA from IE Business School, a M.Sc. in Management of Technology from MIT, and a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Madrid. He is an associate professor at graduate courses and a member of the Rafael Marino Technology Chair at the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, where he focuses his research on advanced system modeling.
Santiago is also a member of the Techstars innovation community and of the MIT Sloan blockchain innovation group.
